If you guessed PortAventura, Bingo! If you didn’t, you’re missing out on the fun of a lifetime! You might not have heard of PortAventura when visiting Barcelona because it's actually in the resort town of Salou, near the lovely city of Tarragona, an hour's drive from Barcelona. PortAventura World, a giant theme park resort, (& by giant, we mean at par with Disneyland or Disney World) is replete with water adventures, three theme parks, including Ferrari Land, restaurants, shops and so much more. 

Since it opened in 1995, experts have consistently rated it among Europe's best theme parks, with The Times ranking it second overall. So, make sure it's on your list of must-see places when you visit Spain!

Things to know before you book your PortAventure World tickets

  • If you’re looking to explore more than one park but are tight on budget, consider the multi-day pass. It offers better value than purchasing single park day tickets if you plan to visit multiple parks. Starting from €70, these passes offer flexibility with optional access to Ferrari Land and Costa Caribe Aquatic Park. However, transportation is not included.
  • The 1-Day Pass can be your cheapest option, but remember, it limits you to one park per day. If you want to see more for less and have a few days at your disposal, go for the multi-day options. Starting from €21, this is also the most economical option for those planning a quick visit. You can access any of the parks — PortAventura Park, Ferrari Land, or Costa Caribe Aquatic Park. Like the multi-day pass, it doesn’t include transportation.
  • Check for reduced prices for children and seniors, which are available on some tickets like the PortAventura Park & Ferrari Land with return transfers. Children aged between 4 and 10, and adults over 60 years can enjoy reduced-price tickets. Make sure you carry a valid photo ID).
  • If you’re traveling from Barcelona and prefer everything pre-arranged, consider tickets with included transportation. Prices start from €59 for Costa Caribe and €71.10 for PortAventura Park. These include round-trip transportation.
  • All tickets provide full access to rides and shows within the selected parks. However, not all tickets cover all three parks, so choose based on which parks you want to visit. Multi-Day and Full-Day Trips provide the most comprehensive access to attractions and are recommended for a thorough experience. For a spooky treat, visit during the Halloween season to catch special Halloween-themed shows and passages.

Easter Season

  • By train: Taking the Regional Trains (Rodalies): This is the most convenient and affordable option. The regional trains (operated by Renfe) depart from Barcelona Sants station frequently throughout the day. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours, with some trains requiring a change at Tarragona station.
  • By Bus: Take the direct coach services from Barcelona to PortAventura. These coaches are usually faster than the train, taking around 1.5 hours. However, they may be slightly more expensive.
  • By tour: If you are traveling from Barcelona or another nearby city, get on a trip that includes transportation to and from PortAventura World. If you'd rather not deal with the hassle of transportation or groaning children, this may be a good option for you.

  • Rent of Prams/Wheelchairs: For your convenience, PortAventura offers different types of pushchairs and wheelchairs for rent: single pushchair (€10 + €5 deposit), double pushchair (€15 + €5 deposit), manual wheelchair (€12 + €5 deposit), and electric wheelchair (€40 + €20 deposit). Availability may vary, and deposits are refunded if the rental conditions are met.
  • Lockers: Rent a locker at PortAventura Park for €8. In PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park, you can also rent a regular locker for €8 or a family locker for €11. Availability is limited.
  • Special Lockers: To make your ride experience smoother, PortAventura provides special lockers near major attractions for only €2. Store your bag and enjoy the ride without extra weight.
